As the use of photovoltaics has grown to include roof top and façade mounted panels so has the hazards and code. About Timothee Rodrique - Senior Staff Engineering Specialist, Climate and Structural Resilience
Timothee C. Rodrique is senior staff engineering specialist, climate and structural resilience at FM, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers.
As a member of the climate and structural resilience group. Mr. Rodrique is the subject matter expert and author of FM Data Sheets covering topics related to plastic in construction, MCM facades, BAPV and BIPV (fire), industrial exhaust systems and mass engineered timber. He coordinates development and delivery of FM Data Sheets, products, services, and solutions for the benefit of operations and clients that reduce losses and showcase FM expertise in property risk mitigation in the areas of expertise. This includes leveraging the vast knowledge of FM research group and the reach of the company’s 1,800 property loss prevention engineers.
Since re-joining the organization in 2014, Tim held client facing role in Boston Operations, as an Account Engineer. Before that, Tim has over 25 years of experience in the areas of fire protection and loss prevention. Tim’s industry experience includes field engineering expertise for various companies including Factory Mutual Engineering and Research and Wausau Insurance Companies. He provided technical expertise to a field staff at Arkwright Insurance Company, which included their venture with Liberty Mutual. He spent over 15 years as Director of the State Fire Marshal Office in Massachusetts, representing the State Fire Marshal on various Boards and Commissions such as, the Board of Building Regulations and Standards, Board of Fire Prevention Regulations and Toxic Use Reduction Board. He improved firefighter and life safety through improvements to the State Building Code and championed and oversaw the creation of a new State Fire Code based on a model code. He oversaw the largest non-criminal investigation regarding the possibility of unodorized or underodorized propane gas distribution in the Commonwealth.
In addition, Mr. Rodrique is the alternate on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) committee on Fire Tests. He is an active member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. Timothee Rodrique holds a Master of Science degree in fire protection engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Lowell.
