Chapter Meeting - Synthetic Fluorine Free Low Expansion Foam Systems
Synthetic Fluorine Free Low Expansion Foam Systems or SFFF is an overview of how foam systems have changed during the transition to non-fluorinated foams. Of specific value, what components make up a foam system, understanding foam listings and approvals, and how to obtain correct discharge densities for sprinklers and other discharge devices.
Presented by Joshua Overholt, Joshua is a multi-certified fire protection professional who works for The Viking Corporation as a Senior Special Hazards Technical Advisor. With over 29 years in the fire protection industry, Joshua began his career as a second-generation volunteer firefighter. He eventually transitioned this passion into a career, in which he worked up the ranks to become Chief of Fire & Emergency Services. As Chief, he oversaw many fire department operations, including fire protection system plan reviews and the commissioning of fire protection systems. Joshua earned his master’s degree in Emergency Services Management at Columbia Southern University and holds an undergraduate degree in Fire Science. Joshua is also currently employed as a firefighter/EMT and a building inspector in the state of Michigan. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) as a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), and a member of the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).
